Choose or lose

Tomorrow is the day that American elects a new leader and changes the way that couples can marry and lead a life. It's literally the most important election that I think I will ever see and I'm very excited to see what happens tomorrow evening.

I wound up not voting early this year, even though Cathee and I had planned to. Now that I'm not, I'm actually a bit happy because I really can't wait to see what the polling lines look like tomorrow. The amount of energy, excitement, and uncertainty flowing is going to be exhilarating and I can't wait to be a part of it.

Our nation is in a time of crisis and the ability to elect a new leader and set new policies right now is of the utmost importance. No matter what anyone has said before, this is the most important election of anyone that's alive right now. I'm serious. This election is actually going to shape history for both America and the world. We have the ability, right now, to change the way the world perceives us and how we interact with them. American can take back it's spot as the number one country in the world and get everyone else to agree.

No matter what you plan to vote for, please vote. As long as you have researched the issues and candidate that you plan to vote for, I highly encourage everyone to get out and vote tomorrow. Be a part of the democratic process because if you choose not to take part in the shaping of our country, you leave it up to everyone else. Voting is the most powerful way you can affect the way our country is run, the policies that are set, and the role the government plays in your daily life.

Research is something very important to the voting process. Please don't let anyone else tell you how to vote and don't listen to anything you see on TV. If you're interested in voting for a particular issue or candidate, please spend some time to review what they stand for and what the propositions are really going to do. You should have received some voting materials and a sample ballot in your mailbox. Use these if you don't have time or the thought of searching for an unbiased source online doesn't sound fun. Do something to get you familiar with what a proposition or candidate actually supports and will do instead of trusting your friends, that guy on the street, or anything on TV or the news. Look into the issues yourself... you may be surprised with what you find.

Get out tomorrow and vote. If you think you don't have time, you do. Your employer must allow for you to leave work (some states require notification prior to election day) and you can see what's required based on where you live here. Everyone has time to help change the country and support what they believe in. If you choose not to vote, you're saying that you want everyone else to decide how you live your life. Don't let me and everyone else decide this for you.

Take the short time that it takes to visit your local polling place and help shape the future of America.
